The month of October has been the month of safety lessons for students at Lima Primary School.

Kindergarten and first-grade students received a visit from Lima Volunteer Fire Department members on October 1 to learn about fire safety just before Fire Prevention week. Students got to check out one of the department’s trucks along with hearing about a firefighter’s safety equipment such as the turnout gear and air pack and what to do in case of a fire in their home.

On October 15, the students went through bus safety drills such as getting out of the back door of a bus in case of an accident that prevented students from exiting the front of the bus. The drills are conducted annually for the students.
