Mount Morris, NY, April 15, 2020 — The Livingston County Department of Health (LCDOH) reports two new positive cases of COVID-19 in Livingston County as of this morning.
According to Jennifer Rodriguez, Livingston County Public Health Director, the individuals and any associated household members are now in the LCDOH quarantine process.
· Female in her 100s who resides in Avon
· Female in her 50s who resides in Nunda
In accordance with state and federal medical privacy laws, additional information about these individuals will not be provided. LCDOH was notified of these positive cases this morning.
Rodriguez stated that LCDOH will immediately begin outreach to identify close contacts and potential exposure areas per prescribed New York State regulations.
In addition, Rodriguez notes an adjustment to the current number of positive cases due to a reinfection. A positive case reported on April 13, 2020 is a re-infected individual from a previously reported positive case. Based upon consultation with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), LCDOH is now reporting this as one case rather than two. All future positive cases involving reinfection will be reported in the same manner per New York State guidance.
