The Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima High School Annual Reunion was held this year on the Sunday of Fall Weekend and attendees gave it a thumbs up in an unscientific poll.
The total number of attendees at the reunion on Sunday, October 1 was 132 with over 100 of those being alumni of either Honeoye Falls High School (up to 1969) or HF-L (1970-present). The reunion was held at Flaherty’s Restaurant in Honeoye Falls. Celebrating five-year anniversaries were the Honeoye Falls Class of 1953, the Honeoye Falls Class of 1958, the Honeoye Falls Class of 1963, the Honeoye Falls Class of 1968, the HF-L Class of 1973, the HF-L Class of 1978 and the HF-L Class of 1983. On display at the reunion were the senior class photos of those honored classes along with the Honeoye Falls school flag and the HF-L school flag.
The earliest class represented at the reunion was the Honeoye Falls Class of 1952 with two members, Mabel Arner-Thayer and Elmer “Dutch” VanVoorhis. The Honeoye Falls Class of 1953 had one representative, the HF Class of 1958 had three representatives, the HF Class of 1963 had seven representatives and the HF Class of 1968 had 10 members. The HF-L Class of 1973 had two representatives, the HF-L Class of 1978 had five representatives and the HF-L Class of 1983 had one representative. The HF-L Class of 1983 was just added to the reunion this year as classes are invited upon their 40th anniversary.

The Honeoye Falls Class of 1962 and the Honeoye Falls Class of 1968 had the most representatives with 10 alumni attending from each one of those classes.
Alumni enjoyed the wonderful food at the reunion with appetizers followed by a full-menu buffet, a soft drink/coffee station and a dessert station of cookies and brownies.
Attendees found booklets at the tables with the names of those attending and there was also a section in the booklet with the names of those alumni who have passed away from September 2019 to August 2023. The list was lengthy since it had not been updated since September 2019 with COVID forcing cancellations of the reunion for a couple of years.
The nine-member Alumni Committee of Barb Banser-Lonobile (HF 1968), Jean McGeary Batte (HF 1962), Claire Keating-Broomfield (HF 1965), Muffy Meisenzahl (HF-L 1970), Wayne Menz (HF 1964), Frank Morehouse (HF 1969), Kathy Overslaugh-Morehouse (HF-L 1970), Sally Perrigo Emens (HF 1964) and Sandy Wagner (HF-L 1973) were pleased with the satisfaction of the attendees regarding the venue, the food and the fact that the reunion was held during HF-L’s Fall Weekend.

The reunion was held from noon-4 p.m. with a welcome, remarks and announcements made by the alumni committee at 2 p.m.
Next year’s reunion will again coincide with the HF-L Fall Weekend schedule (dates of that are unknown at this time). Alumni are encouraged to refer to the HF-L website (www.hflcsd.org) and click on the Alumni Tab for the most up-to-date information about reunions and alumni activities.
