Everything old is new again. Comedy used to be about bringing things right up to the edge of truth, but holding back just enough so it’s funny and not scolding. This includes scolding – in a funny way – which Groucho Marx was expert at. Today, like Mel Brooks, Groucho would have been hounded off the stage by the political correct nabobs. Of course, that would suit him just fine. He would never want to belong to a club that would accept him. For more fun and humor, check out this week’s Carosa Commentary “Groucho Speaks! A Book Review on The Groucho Letters.”
