On Monday, May 26, 2025 Falls Post #664 and other area American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War Posts will have several events to commemorate Memorial Day.
The ceremonies are as follows:
North Bloomfield Cemetery (at 8:30 a.m.): Memorial Day Parade will start marching from the corner of Quaker Meeting House Road and Ontario Street/Route 65. The service will include the reading of the Honor Roll, placing of a wreath, followed by Taps.
Mendon Cemetery (at 9:30 a.m.): The Mendon Parade formation will be at the Westminister Hall & Chapel (former Mendon Presbyterian Church) on Rt. 251, marching to the Mendon Cemetery for the service, followed by Taps, with the playing of the Star Spangled Banner by the Honeoye Falls-Lima Middle School Band.
Quaker Cemetery on Quaker Meeting House Road (10:15 a.m.): A brief service with the placing of a wreath.
St. Paul’s of the Cross Cemetery (at 10:30 a.m.): Marching in for the service, including the reading of the Honor Roll, placing of a wreath and followed by Taps.
Honeoye Falls Parade (at 11:30 a.m.): Formation at the Honeoye Falls-Lima High School, at the corner of East and Church Streets, for the parade through the village, to the Honeoye Falls Cemetery. A service will be held, with a wreath being placed, and followed by Taps. The Star Spangled Banner will be played by the Honeoye Falls-Lima High School Band.
Lima Memorial Day Parade: The Parade in Lima will begin at 9:30 a.m. sharp with parade lineup at Lima Primary School on College Street. The parade will proceed to the Lima Town Hall where wreaths will be placed and a Memorial Service held in front of the town hall following the parade. All veterans are invited to march with the Lima American Legion Post #282 or Lima VFW Post #26.
Pittsford Memorial Day Parade: The parade will start at 10 a.m. from Sutherland High School, marching down Jefferson Road to South Main Street through the village four corners and on North Main Street to Washington
Road, entering Pittsford Cemetery for a rememberance ceremony. The ceremony will feature music by the Pittsford Fire Department Band and the Pittsford Mendon High School Choir. Three wreaths honoring 1) Pittsford’s war casualties and MIAs, 2) Veterans who were members of the Pittsford Fire Department and 3) all veterans will be placed. Taps will be played by Marc Iacona. A reception following the ceremony will be at Pittsford’s Rayson-Miller American Legion Post #899 headquarters, 21 North Main Street in the lower level of the Village Hall.
Rush Memorial Day Ceremony: A ceremony honoring veterans will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery in Rush at Noon.
Scottsville Memorial Day Parade: Scottsville’s Memorial Day parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. from TJ Conner Elementary School on Beckwith Avenue. The route proceeds down Rochester Street to Main Street to the Smith-Warren American Legion Post #367. A ceremony will be held there following the parade.
