Mendon Public Library is pleased to share artwork created by Cathy Stewart through April.

Stewart is an up-and-coming artist who recently relocated to Honeoye Falls, NY from Wayne County (Sodus Bay), a place where she spent her summers growing up. She works mostly in acrylic painting and photography. She is inspired by nature and God’s great glory as depicted in her work. She enjoys all things water and sunset related and can usually be found with her paint brush and camera.

A graduate of Finger Lakes Community College and Rochester Institute of Technology, she majored in Graphic Arts & Photography. She retired from Monroe #1 BOCES Technology Services after 20 years. Her photos have been featured in the 2022 Marvelous New York Calendar of New York City as well as in the Sodus Bay Area Calendar of 2021. Some of her winning photographs were also featured on the Beautiful Lake Ontario Facebook Site. Her work has been shown through The Penfield Art Association and through various Wolcott NY Arts & Crafts Show/Sales. She previously won an Award of Merit from NYSUT for Best Front Page Cover Design of the NYSUT Union Newsletter at the Representative Assembly in Washington, D.C. 2004, Graphic Artist.
