On Wednesday, November 17, 2021, the Monroe County Parks Department held a dedication ceremony for a new bicycle maintenance station at Mendon Station along the Lehigh Valley Trail in the hamlet of Mendon.

The construction of the station was an Eagle Project organized by Matthew Dobner of Boy Scout Troop 10 of Honeoye Falls. Dobner invested over 480 hours into the project which included work by over 15 Scouts and adults during a three-month time period to build the station. Dobner was responsible for fund raising, procuring materials and scheduling the work for the project.

Dobner’s sponsor was the Mendon Foundation who maintains that portion of the Lehigh Valley Trail. The Mendon Foundation is an organization committed to providing an avenue for people to preserve, protect and promote the open spaces in the Mendon Community.

Congratulations to Dobner on this valuable project. Dobner is a senior at Honeoye Falls-Lima High School. His parents are Michael and Barbara Dobner of Mendon. For more info on Troop 10, go to Troop10.org.
