Heather S. Vitticore is the featured artist at Mendon 64, 1369 Pittsford Mendon Road in Mendon and a reception will be held September 18 from 5-7 p.m.
In a brief bio, Vitticore writes, “I have a background as a fine artist, an illustrator, and an art educator. My artwork often exists in this space that lives within all three worlds. As a fine artist, I aim to hold my viewers’ attention; to stop, look, and reflect. As an illustrator, I look to tell a story through my subject matter. With a background in art education, I hope to teach others through my art about the beauty and wonderment found within the details of the world around us. Entranced by the way lines flow and intersect, how colors overlap to create incredible new hues, and the feel of pencil and watercolor on paper. As an artist, I strive to draw attention, energy, and exposure to the beauty found within this dynamic, inspiring world of ours. Every flower and plant I paint holds meaning and symbolism, aside from its beauty. My animals will grab your attention with their expression and personality. My watercolor paintings of seascapes and landscapes aim to conjure memories for the viewer that bring a sense of peace and calm.”
