The second-seeded Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars (6-2) host the seventh-seeded Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton football team (1-6) in the Quarterfinal round of the 2023 Section V Class B Football Tournament. This is a rematch of the Week 7 contest that saw HF-L score 32 unanswered points to defeat DWC 32-3. During the first half, Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton had three trips to the red zone but could only generate three points. The Cougars scored a touchdown in the final minute of the second quarter to take a 6-3 halftime lead before scoring 26 points in the second half. The game was highlighted by an interception returned 50 yards for a touchdown by HF-L’s defensive back, Conor Finn, whose performance, which included six tackles, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery, garnered the Section V Class B Defensive Player of the Week award.
The Quarterfinal match kicks off this Friday, October 27th, at 7:00 PM. The Sentinel’s broadcast of the game will be streamed through the Section V Broadcast Network.
