Expanding upon the Town of Mendon’s commitment to supporting veterans, Supervisor John Moffitt and members of the Mendon Town Board announced the creation of a Veterans Day Lunch to be held on Veterans Day each year. The town wishes to express its gratitude for the service and sacrifice made by our local veterans and their families.
“This Veterans Day Lunch is just one small way for our community to express its heartfelt gratitude to the men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect the freedoms we enjoy in this country,” said Mendon Town Supervisor John Moffitt. “While we will never be able to fully repay our heroes for all they have given to our country, we can show our thanks and appreciation for local veterans and their families.”
In a unanimous vote, the Town of Mendon established a Veterans Day Lunch, which will be held each November 11th following the ceremony performed by American Legion Falls Post #664 at 11:00 AM in the four corners of Honeoye Falls. The lunch event will be hosted at the Town of Mendon Falls Post #664 Community Center, located at 167 North Main Street in Honeoye Falls. All community veterans and their families are invited to attend and join in the celebration.
Veterans Day, observed on November 11th each year, was established by the federal government as a celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
