Three Wheatland-Chili seventh-graders, one Wheatland-Chili fifth-grader and one sixth-grader from the School of the Holy Childhood of an all-girl For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Lego League Robotics Team competed at the FIRST Lego League regional qualifier held at the Spencerport Central School District. The Hippie Pandas team won the award for highest robot score with a match score of 155 and the third highest score with a match score of 123.

The Hippie Pandas won the Chairman’s Award as the team with the highest combination of all three attributes of the FIRST Lego League competition of core values, project, and robot design. This is the highest award a team can win.

The team has qualified for the regional championship to be held at University of Rochester in December.
