Severe anxiety and depression among teens and young adults have affected the lives of many families, rising from around 9% of teens in 2006 to about 41% in 2016. Some teens find it difficult to attend school, take tests, or participate in social gatherings, which ironically can result in self-blame, feeding a cycle of anxiety and depression.

Diana Paige has educated teens and parents about anxiety and healthy responses for several years. Her 2015 TEDX talk on the subject went viral, and she has joined a number of community and mental health organizations to help young people realize more fulfilling, reduced-stress lives. Speaking from her personal struggles, she presents a powerful message that everyone can benefit from hearing.

Diana will speak at First Presbyterian Church of Honeoye Falls – the church in the middle of Main, 27 North Main Street, Honeoye Falls – on Sunday, March 10 at 2 PM; she will be joined by Rochester NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) for a question-and-answer session at 3 PM. Though aimed primarily at parents and teens, this free event can be helpful for anyone who deals with levels of stress and anxieties that influence behaviors. For more information, please call the church at 585-624-2160 and ask for Pastor Kirk.
