Mary Anne Magee has been giving back to Honeoye Falls for a long time. A 1972 graduate of HF-L, young Mary Anne was active in sports, music, and even spent some time volunteering in the old library.

Today, retired from a career in patent law, Mary Anne volunteers each week at the Mendon Public Library. She is also an active member of the community band, Honeoye Falls Presbyterian Church, and has led the Mendon Seniors.

The beautiful baskets that are currently on display in the library are all handmade by Mary Anne. Using various materials, she has created more than 100 works of art. Each of the 20-plus baskets on display is labeled by the material used and type of design.

“I don’t teach basket making or offer my baskets for sale,” she said. “I just really enjoy the challenge of trying new designs and working through the process.”
