March is known as Music in Our Schools Month and there is no greater testimony to that than the Monroe County All County Music Festivals at the high school, junior high school and elementary school levels during the weeks of this month that will feature several HF-L students who auditioned and were selected for those festivals.
HF-L seventh-graders and eighth-graders started the festivals off last week (March 7 and 8) at the Junior High All County Festival, held at Hilton High School. They were Megan Charles (flute), Jackson Hawks (trumpet), Olivia Lascell (clarinet), Cailyn Mannigan (bass clarinet), Emma Nilson (flute), Heather Parham (clarinet), Miles Philips (tuba) and Charles Wan (trombone) in the band and Dylan Berkeley, Clara Boldt, William Fowler, Austin Jones, Benjamin McMinn, Megan Merrill and Emily Wisnowski in the chorus.
HF-L high school students who will be participating in the Senior High All County (Grades 9-12) festival March 14 and 15 at Roberts Wesleyan University are Sarah McLaughlin (1st chair clarinet) in the orchestra, Ryleigh Abell (flute) in the band and Raegan Banker, Claire Connors, Maeve Connors, Elias Courtney, Peterah Deisenroth, Andy Fosler, Kate Gabrielsen, Taber Gloor, Kaylee Henshaw, Emma Kingsley, Paige Moscicki, Jenna Quinn, Emily Repass, Mikey Ruff and Amelia Somers in the chorus.
Manor School fourth-graders and fifth-graders and Middle School sixth-graders will participate in the Elementary (Grades 4-6) All County Music Festival on March 21 and 22 at Pittsford’s Calkins Road Middle School. They are Carlyn Bartell (tuba), Owen Darcy (trombone), Isabella Emmi (clarinet), James Francis (trumpet), Molly Freeberg (flute), Caroline Gaudieri (flute), Nathalie Gelb (flute), Evan Koelsch (mallet percussion), Isaac Maxon (trombone), Jacob Parkes (clarinet), Grace Potter (clarinet) and Annaliese Valle (flute) in the band and Audrey Filiatrault, Alayna Hinsdale, Avaleigh Lynah, Claire Stanley, Michael Telesca, Abigail Welch and Carina Zeh in the chorus.
