The annual Honeoye Falls Festival on the Green 5K running race was held on the evening of June 17. The winner of this year’s competition was Ahren Spaker (15) of Mendon in a time of 18:23. Ahren (pictured in the photo at right) also designed the art work for the front of the 5K shirts this year which features the historic Honeoye Falls Village Hall and East Street bridge with multiple renditions of the famous Iron Fireman running across the bridge. Second place in the 5K went to Ahren’s father Kurt Spaker in a time of 19:06. The first and second place female finishers were Niki Carrier of Hemlock (19:57) and Kristina Powell of Pittsford (21:45). Masters winners(over 40) were David O’Leary (19:48) and Krista Mitchell (23:15). There were 71 finishers in the 5K race.
