It is finally spring and Benincasa is preparing for its 23rd year of providing comfort care to the area’s terminally ill loved ones. Although it depends on donations, grants and its annual fundraisers to keep the house operating, it also cannot care for the residents without the support of its team of compassionate and dedicated volunteer caregivers.
With summer approaching Benincasa always welcomes the addition of new folks that are interested in serving the residents and giving back to some wonderful people who need help. Benincasa provides comfort care for up to two residents at a time and volunteers offer assistance through companionship, lending an ear, light household help and running errands.
Education and training is provided and nurses oversee and mentor each volunteer as they provide care in a family like setting.
