The Village of Pittsford was a busy place last Tuesday evening (December 3) as people, young and old alike, enjoyed Candlelight Night, a family-fun annual tradition that kicks off the winter holidays in Pittsford.
Hosted by the Pittsford Chamber of Commerce, activities during the event took place in the center of the village as well as Schoen Place and Northfield Commons, along the Erie Canal.
Candlelight Night activities included horse-drawn carriage rides, visits with Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and The Grinch and tree lightings in the Four Corners area at State and South Main Streets, the Schoen Place Pavilion and the Northfield Common Gazebo. Music was plentiful at the event, either outside or inside. Village businesses in the center of the village as well as those in Schoen Place and Northfield Commons welcomed people with special sales, events and/or treats. There was also a Kids’ Zone set up at Northfield Commons. Various food trucks lined South Main Street, which was closed off between Monroe Avenue/State Street to Jefferson Road.
