The 37th Annual Cougar Creations celebration of the arts at Honeoye Falls-Lima took place May 15-17.

Originally conceived years ago as a celebration of art both visually and musically, the event has emphasized the visual arts in recent years with one of HF-L’s music groups performing on the Tuesday of the event (coinciding with the annual school budget vote). This year the featured group was the HF-L Jazz Combo. In addition, HF-L’s Odyssey of the Mind team of Manor and Middle School students held a presentation on Tuesday, May 16, as well.

Volunteers from the Art Boosters were in attendance, explaining how their boosters group helps the district’s art programs and recruiting new members for the booster club.

Student artwork, representing work from kindergarten students at Lima Primary all the way up through seniors at the High School, were on display at the high school’s “B” wing gym. Some samples are pictured here: The Flowers in the Vase is the work of Lima Primary student Brynn Ramos; The Butterfly is the work of Manor School student Joseph Gage; The Raccoon is the work of Middle School student Brandon Wright and The Abstracted Landscape showing a rocky shoreline is by High School student Ellie Camp.
