There was a lot of catching up to do as the alumni from Honeoye Falls High School and Honeoye Falls-Lima High School met for the Annual Alumni Reunion on Sunday, September 28 at Flaherty’s Restaurant in Honeoye Falls.
This year, the earliest Honored Class with attendees was the Honeoye Falls High School Class of 1955. Other Honored Classes were Honeoye Falls High School Class of 1960 and Honeoye Falls High School Class of 1965 and HF-L High School Classes of 1970, 1975, 1980 and 1985. The reunion took place on the Sunday of Fall Weekend to allow for more activities for those attending the reunion. Between 100-105 alumni attended the gathering; over 55 of them were Honeoye Falls grads (through 1969) and the rest were HF-L grads (Honeoye Falls and Lima merged to form HF-L with the first combined graduating class being 1970).
Jim Meyers represented the earliest class, that of Honeoye Falls Class of 1951. The 1965 class had the most alumni at the reunion with 12 representatives. The Class of 1962 had 10 attendees, the Class of 1964 nine and the Class of 1970 nine.
The reunion began at noon and lasted until 4 p.m. with a welcome, remarks and announcements from the Reunion Committee at around 2 p.m. Alumni enjoyed a full buffet luncheon along with a brief program. On the tables were booklets with the names of those attending as well as the names of 36 alumni who passed away between last year’s reunion on October 6, 2024 and the closing date for information for the booklet which was September 1, 2025. Those alumni who were remembered in the booklet this year were Lois McCabe Johnson (1952), Rosemary Mann-Rowland (1953), Amaryllis Sleight-Shellman (1953), Nancy Herington-Durkee (1954), William O’Connor (1954), Cora Denome (1957), Judy Hollister-Gilbert (1957), Nancy Jabaut-Braun (1957), Jo-Ann Durkee-George (1959), Roger Templar (1961), Peter Yendell (1962), David Latt (1963), Sandy Bolles-Guerin (1964), Roger Cappi (1964), Kathleen Bastian-Coyle (1965), Timothy Lewis (1967), Ellen Sigas-Lewis (1967), John Chambery (1968), Linda Sherman-Treat (1968), Richard Bills (1969), Marsha Swick-Farron (1970), Richard Slade (1971), Marcia Dinehart-O’Dea (1972), Roy Rodway (1972), Diane Arena-Horan (1973), John Moon (1975), Jim Willis (1975), Michael Halligan (1976), David Garrity (1978), Michael Heller (1978), Thomas Meehan (1979), Robert Bruce (1980), David Heller (1980), Steve Hahn (1982), Cynthia Meyers-Krebbeks (1982) and Michael Leggett (1984).
The reunion committee of Barb Banser-Lonobile (1968), Jean McGeary-Batte (1962), Claire Keating-Broomfield (1965), Muffy Meisenzahl (1970), Frank Morehouse (1969), Kathy Overslaugh-Morehouse (1970) and Sally Perrigo Emens (1964) ask that if you know of an alum who has passed away or have a new address for an alum, to let them know.
Next year’s reunion will again coincide with HF-L’s Fall Weekend activities (the date of which is unknown at this time). They encourage alumni to refer to the HF-L website (hflcsd.org) and click on the Alumni tab for the most up-to-date information about reunions and alumni activities.
