Madison Pownall of Lima will be facing Driver While Intoxicated charges after a rollover crash on Rush-Lima Road in Rush early Thursday morning (March 24).

According to the Monroe County Sheriff ’s Department, the 20-year-old Pownall lost control of her car around 2:15 a.m. Pownall, a 2014 graduate of Honeoye Falls-Lima, was traveling northbound on Rush-Lima Road when her 2001 Volvo crossed the center line. Her vehicle went through the front Lima woman facing DWI charges after rollover crash yard and driveway of a residence at 6565 Rush-Lima Road before coming to rest on its side in a ditch among some trees.

Rush Fire Department members had to cut through the car’s sunroof to allow Pownall to exit the vehicle. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Monroe County Sheriff ’s Department said Pownall was arrested and will be charged with DWI.
