Out of the remaining members of the Lima High School Class of 1967, 14 of them gathered at the annual alumni banquet and reunion of Lima High School on Saturday, July 8 at Lima Country Club.

The Class of 1967 was the honored class at the reunion, celebrating its 50th anniversary. Members of the class present were Laura Baldas Calkins, Donna Dickinson Doser, Terry Dechau, Jackie King, Kathy Kirkwood Wolfer, Jeanette Lloyd Loss, Jerry Loss, Kathie Mann Sanagursky, Barbara May, Dennis Neenan, Ed Nemitz, Elizabeth Nichols Yanowitch, Rose Reynolds and Evelyn Semmel DuBois. Three members of the class, Schreckendgust, Schweizer and Shanks have passed away as well as two other students who were associated with the class but did not graduate with them: James Krebbeks and Margaret Jane Chatterton Stadtmiller.
Following welcoming remarks from Neenan, who was the class of 1967 president, Reynolds recognized all military veterans in attendance and the group recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Kirkwood Wolfer gave the invocation before a buffet dinner was served.

After dinner, the 14 assembled members of the class of 1967 told a bit about themselves and their years following high school graduation. Nichols Yanowitch read the names of Lima High alumni who the alumni association has learned have passed away since the last reunion in July 2016. They are Ruth Tubbs Fallesen (Class of 1934), John Bartlett (Class of 1940), Jingle Sackett Lally (Class of 1943), Eleanor Madigan Morris (Class of 1946), Raymond Davison (Class of 1947), Lee Shanks (Class of 1948), June Kingsley Cope (Class of 1949), Pat Whalen Ellsworth (Class of 1952), David Conners (Class of 1954), Charles “Dick” O’Brien (Class of 1957), Donna Smith Haich (Class of 1963), Jesse Gillespie (Class of 1963), David Hamilton (Class of 1963), Timothy Knop (Class of 1966), Margaret Jane Chatterton Stadtmiller (Class of 1967), Karen Schreckendgust (Class of 1967) and Michael Rawlins (Class of 1968). The assembled 75 alumni were named in a roll call of classes with the oldest class represented being 1934. There was a presentation on the HF-L Alumni Hall of Fame and a business report of the association. After a raffle drawing, those assembled sang the Lima High Alma Mater and “God Bless America” to close the formal part of the event. Conversation and laughter flowed freely afterwards as alumni reminisced about their days at Lima High School, which was open from 1919-1969, when Lima and Honeoye Falls schools then merged to form Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District.

The next reunion will be July 14, 2018 with the Class of 1968 being the honored class.
