Do you live alone? Do you find it challenging? Lonely? Or empty?

Gwenn Voelckers, of Mendon, is offering a new one-day “Alone and Content” empowerment workshop for divorced and widowed women from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on Friday, May 31.

The workshop will be held at House Content Bed & Breakfast in Mendon. Participants will discover how to think differently about living alone and the opportunity they have to rewrite their next chapter with more clarity, purpose, and joy.

The workshop fee of $165 includes thought-provoking, interactive discussions led by Voelckers, empowerment exercises, and plenty of trusted advice and resources. Breakfast refreshments with assorted pastries and a delicious healthy lunch are included.

Divorced years ago, Voelckers has coped successfully with the challenges and opportunities that confront women in midlife who live alone, often for the first time in their lives. In 2005, she introduced her first Living Alone workshop following a solo trip to Paris, where she celebrated turning 50. Voelckers is now 64.

“You have lots of time to think when you travel alone,” said Voelckers. “In Paris, I thought about my struggles after my divorce and returned home determined to help other women pick up the pieces and put their lives back together after a divorce or the loss of a spouse.”

Voelckers has been leading the workshops for over a decade now and just last year published her first book titled, “Alone and Content: Inspiring, empowering essays to help divorced and widowed women feel whole and complete on their own.”

Not a licensed professional, Voelckers’ expertise is born out of real-life experience.  She openly shares her story and strategies so that others can imagine a brighter future and move forward with confidence and a renewed love for life.

Pre-registration is required. For more information, visit www.aloneandcontent.com, call Voelckers at (585) 624-7887 or e-mail gvoelckers@rochester.rr.com.
