The Daughters of the American Revolution Ska-Hase-Ga-O Chapter in Lima hosted their annual Holiday Tea at Two with members and guests on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Lima Presbyterian Church. The event was held in honor of DAR’s 2024 – 2025 Good Citizen award recipients from area high schools.
DAR’s Good Citizen program recognizes and celebrates outstanding high school seniors who demonstrate these strong American values: Dependability, Service, Leadership, and Patriotism. Livingston County Good Citizen winners this year are Hannah Cousins (Avon Central School), Felicity Grant (York Central School), Eliza Lonsberry (Mount Morris) and Eliza Parker (Livonia Central School).
The Ska-Hase-Ga-O Chapter winner is Eliza Lonsberry, whose scholarship application goes on to further competition.
In addition to celebrating Ska-Hase-Ga-O’s Good Citizens, members and guests enjoyed a program on the 251st anniversary of the Boston Tea Party presented by Ska-Hase-Ga-O member Jennifer Averill. Following a review of this historic event, guests sampled five different teas representative of the actual brews dumped overboard into Boston Harbor on December 16th, 1773.
