The annual Candlelight Night in Pittsford brought out a nice crowd despite the cold temperatures last Tuesday night (December 2).
Sponsored by the Pittsford Chamber of Commerce, Candlelight Night features two tree lightings, one at South Main Street and State Street and the other at the Schoen Place gazebo. There were also horse drawn carriage rides from the South Main Street down to Schoen Place and Northfield Commons, musicians at various businesses in the village, live alpacas at Northfield Commons, and a kids zone with an obstacle course, bounce house and snowglobe selfie station. Kids could visit with the Grinch at Messner’s Flooring on Monroe Avenue or Mrs. Claus at the Little House Museum, where Pittsford’s Historical Society is based. Santa Claus and some live reindeer were at Northfield Commons. Businesses in the village on South Main Street, Monroe Avenue, State Street and North Main Street and those in Schoen Place and Northfield Commons, along the Erie Canal, were open to showcase possible holiday gift ideas and some offered visitors something warm to drink and some treats. There were also food trucks along South Main Street and in Northfield Commons.
