Tim and Deb Smith, whom you see every week on these pages, have come out with a new book. Blacks Facts contains short bios and snippets from the lives of black comedians, sports stars and other prominent celebrities. You can see some of these in the articles they’re writing this month.

Bob Caulkins, a New York State history teacher, says after reading the book, “What a great read. Blacks Facts educates and entertains. As a history teacher, it reacquainted me with the famous, and also educated me on significant storylines and fascinating lesser-known historical and entertainment figures. The research done for this book was obviously daunting. In typical Tim and Deb fashion, their writing is hysterical and informative. I particularly liked how they ranked the different personalities into unique categories. Black Facts is a must for your home library, both for a reference and entertainment.”

“There’s a ton of books about black history out there, there’s a ton of books about black humor out there, but nobody before had ever tried to take those two threads and feed them through the eye of a single needle and that’s what we’ve done with this book,” Tim recently told Alexis Arnold on Channel 13’s “Many Voices Many Visions” news program.

Tim and Deb have been in the media spotlight of late. Besides their appearance on Channel 13, they’ve appeared in several newspapers across the nation. They are also scheduled to make other TV appearances, including one this Sunday (February 20) at 10:00am on Channel 10’s “Rochester in Focus.”

If you’d like to buy the book, check it out at Amazon or any of your favorite bookstores. Or just contact Tim & Deb. They’ll fix you up.
