Lima Primary students celebrated Flag Day on June 10.

Students that spoke/led flag day were Connor Nells, Dillon Genter, Grace Francis, Linden Bellizzi, and Grady Goodburlet. Flag bearers were Addison Butler and Hannah Nash.

Girl Scout Troops 60796 and 60775 and Cub Scout Troop #4029 also also participated along with Scout leaders Robin Repass, Leah Dusett and Michael Yusko.

This yearly event included our local Vets, who were organized by Tom Reynolds. The Vets started the event by parading in. The scouts then raised the flag and the entire school pledged allegiance to the flag.

Mrs. Tisa’s class signed the pledge after the school said the pledge.

Students shared facts about the flag, Our Cougar Cubs sang the Star Spangled Banner. (They sang at the Amerks previously this year.) Mrs. Howlett’s and Mrs. William’s classes sang Three Cheers for the Red White and Blue and You’re a Grand Old Flag. The entire school sang a medley of patriotic songs under the direction of Carina Telesca, out music teacher. After the Vets paraded out, the veterans handed out flags to each child and the children paraded around the block.
