Sentinel Publisher and resident astronomer Chris Carosa mustered all the years of Ivy League training to come up with this picture of Monday’s solar eclipse. Taken outside the Galactic Headquarters of The Sentinel at the maximum coverage (roughly 70%) at 2:35 p.m. using his Samsung Galaxy Edge 8 phone and two Kodak Film negatives (circa 1988). Consider this year as practice for 2024, when, on Monday, April 8th, The Greater Western New York Region will be the place to be to see the next total eclipse of the sun.
