Thanksgiving dinner aficionados are welcome to burn the butter in the fourth annual Mendon Turkey Trot 5K Race on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd, 2017. Combining efforts with other local sponsors, StudioMOVE will host the Turkey Trot, which will raise funds for the F.I.S.H. (Friends in Service Here) Food Cupboard in Honeoye Falls, and Women Build for Habitat for Humanity.
The 2017 Mendon Turkey Trot will aim to surpass the success of the snow-covered 2016 race, which raised just over $4,100 for the F.I.S.H. Food Cupboard with the help of 300+ participants and sponsors. “Think of how many families will benefit from your generous participation,” said Christine Brush, the owner of StudioMOVE, who organizes and executes the event every year.
Brush had a vision to create a boutique-style fitness studio. Now, seven years in business, she has bolstered an atmosphere which makes exercise seem like happy hour. Aside from StudioMOVE’s class offerings in yoga, pilates, Body Pump, TRX, cycling, and Zumba, Brush works to remain actively involved in supporting the community of Mendon. In conjunction with other small businesses in Mendon and the Mendon Community Business Association (MCBA), they are able to successfully host events like the Turkey Trot. The Cycle for Hope (February 2018) and Path to Wellness (May 2018) will provide further assistance to the Mendon community, as well as those that surround it.
Itinerary for the 2017 Mendon Turkey Trot 5K Race:
5K Run: 9:00AM - 10:00AM (Register online, or in-person registration held from 7:45-8:45 am, latecomers will not be timed)
2.2 Mile Walk: 9:10AM - 10:00AM
Kids Fun Run: 8:30AM - 8:55AM (Registration online, or in-person registration held from 7:45-8:15 am, latecomers will not be timed)
Followed with a light breakfast, raffle, and recognition of top race finishers
