Want to know the latest on the impact the coronavirus and COVID-19 are having on our local community? Would you like to share helpful tips with your friends and neighbors such as: What’s available in stores right now? How can you work more effectively from home? How do I keep my kids from going stir crazy while home schooling them?
The Sentinel has updated its community hub and now is the time for everyone to take advantage of it.
Called “The Junction,” it’s a Facebook-like social media platform without a lot of the problems caused by Facebook. Here are just a few of the differences:
- It’s locally controlled, meaning international hackers will be less interested in (and capable of) stealing your personal data.
- It’s open and unconstrained, meaning you don’t have to pay to “boost” your post just to make sure it gets to the people it’s meant for.
- It’s hyper local, meaning you’ll see the kind of news you want to see and you can’t get from anywhere else.
In addition:
- Registration is free – you don’t have to subscribe to post comments.
- All subscribers who have paid online are already registered, so you don’t have to register again.
- If you just want to read other people’s comments, you can do that without registering.
