Hamlet Businesses Plan Events For Solar Eclipse

The Mendon Community Business Association (MCBA) is excited to share an incredible weekend of events around the Solar Eclipse. All are right here in the hamlet of Mendon, so no need to travel through traffic to enjoy the extra special eclipse weekend.

Starting on Saturday morning and again on Monday morning, you can experience the extra special, ‘take me to the moon’ feeling of a body reset, more energy and better sleep with the relaxing and restorative FLOWpresso. Throughout the whole weekend, you can visit Keyes’ Trout Brook Sugarhouse & Alpacas, 296 Taylor Rd as they will be open daily from 10 am to 4 pm thru April 8 for sugarhouse tours, pure maple product tastings, and alpaca visits!

From 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday and Monday, you can enjoy the comfort, warmth and healing of a personal infrared sauna. Saturday isn’t over yet. Get on your dancing shoes for the Solar Eclipse of the Heart 80’s Dance Party Saturday from 7 pm to 11 pm at Westminster. You won’t want to miss this night of great music, dancing and community fun! Register at the Facebook page.

Sunday morning brings the special Eclipse Mass at St. Catherine’s Church at 11:45 am.

The eclipse eve Mendon Bar Crawl will be from 4 pm to 10pm Sunday evening at Ye Mendon Tavern, Westminster and The Cottage.

Monday brings the big day we have all been looking forward to. We have two MOON SHADOW 5K runs available on Monday. You can choose the pre-Solar Eclipse run at 2pm or the post Solar Eclipse run at 3:25 pm. These are presented by Willow Racing. Visit willowrunning.com to register and learn more. This is sure to be a historic and memorable 5K experience for all who get to take part.

So many are undecided on how they want to take in all of the wonders of April 8th. We are making it easy to decide. Would you love to GAZE and GRAZE on this special Solar Eclipse day in our cozy hamlet? No need to go far. From 12 pm to 5 pm , you can enjoy grazing at our local eateries and gazing on the Lehigh Valley Trail. Free admission.

Bring your chairs, blankets, eclipse glasses to the Lehigh Valley Trail area and gaze with us. And, graze anytime you desire at The Cottage, Westminster, Mendon 64 and Bumpa’s. Parking is available at St. Catherine’s, Mendon Baseball Fields and Mendon Commons.

The family event at 20 Deep Winery is sold out. Some of the above events also have a limit on capacity, so reserve now for any that you desire.
