We have a variation for you on that old cliché of, “It’s raining cats and dogs.” This coming Saturday, May 30, there is a confirmed “Kitten Shower” taking place at Pet Pride at 7731 Victor Mendon Road from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm. Pet Pride saves the lives of homeless cats in our community by providing shelter, veterinary care, and placement into loving adoptive homes.
Pet Pride is working to prepare for the influx of vulnerable kittens needing shelter, medical care, and adoption. This community event will help raise awareness and collect critical supplies while providing a fun, family-friendly experience for attendees.
Each spring and summer, animal shelters experience a dramatic increase in kittens needing care, food, medical attention, and loving homes. Pet Pride, as a no-kill, free-roam cat sanctuary and adoption center, is already seeing a surge in kittens arriving at the shelter.
To help prepare for the busy months ahead, Pet Pride is asking the community to join the celebration by donating much-needed kitten supplies while enjoying an afternoon of family-friendly activities.
Requested donation items include:
* Canned kitten food
* Kitten chow
* Non-clumping litter
* New toys
* Clean blankets
* Paper towels
The event will feature:
* Kitten visits
* Cat adoptions
* Raffles
* Face painting and crafts
* A food truck
* And more
“Kitten season is joyful, exciting, and incredibly demanding for shelters,” said Danielle Howard, Executive Director of Pet Pride of New York. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, support homeless cats and kittens, and help us ensure we have the supplies needed to care for the hundreds of animals who rely on us each year.”
