The Lima Historical Society is pleased to announce our first ever Zoom meeting for members and their friends on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 p.m.  Carol Samuels is an experienced public speaker with a passion for carousels and her topic is “Carousel Magic”. Her Power Point presentation will include the history of the carousel, as well as the various styles and names of the well-known carvers.  She will also explore the “anatomy,” maintenance, restoration and preservation of carousels. She is with the OSHER Speakers’ Bureau at RIT.

Think back to the carousels of your childhood.  What was your local favorite?   What attracted you to carousels?  Do you know that not all carousel animals are horses?  Did you ever catch a brass ring? Share your experiences. The presentation may evoke memories and inspire you to seek out today’s carousels with a new appreciation for the magical spell they cast.
