This spring, both the Honeoye Falls-Lima High School instrumental and vocal groups went to the Virginia Beach Music Competition Festival and all six groups came home with either first or second place and high ratings.

The Select Choir earned first place and received a Superior rating. The Treble Choir collected first place and earned an Excellent rating. The Mixed Chorus captured second place and received a Superior rating. On the instrumental side, the Jazz Ensemble garnered first place and earned a Superior rating. The Wind Ensemble also collected first place and received a Superior rating. The Concert Band made it a clean sweep of first place and earned an Excellent rating.

HF-L received the highest score for the overall vocal category and the highest score for the overall instrumental category.

Two students also received individual honors. Dan Atkinson was named an Outstanding Instrumental Soloist. Seamus Gillis was named an Outstanding Vocal Soloist.
