Six students from Honeoye Falls-Lima High School and six from the Middle School participated in Area All-State Festivals back in November and one student was selected to perform with other students at the Eastman School of Music as part of an annual state winter conference.
Ben Bernstein and Tigh Regan were in the Senior High Area All-State Festival chorus and Sam Fedele, Bella Lau, Kyle McDougall and CJ Tomaszewski were part of the Senior High Area All-State band. The Senior High Area All-State was November 18-19.
In addition, Lau was selected for the Conference All-State Wind Ensemble, high school instrumental teacher Mark Borden said. A few thousand students auditioned last spring across the state and the best were chosen for the Conference All-State groups which performed the first weekend in December at the Eastman School of Music as part of the annual New York State School Music Association Winter Conference.
HF-L students in the Junior High Area All-State Festival, which was held November 4-5, were Alec Bhaskaran, Hanna Coria, Zack Farnam, Seamus Gillis and Megan Reinke in the chorus and Will Tomaszewski in the band.
