It’s a shame we don’t celebrate Lincoln’s birthday anymore. His life is rich with wonderful stories (in part because he was such a great storyteller himself). Moreover, unlike the unapproachable George Washington, with Lincoln we get a sense that he’s more like us, which means maybe – just maybe – we could be as good as he was. (OK, maybe not totally good, as we’ll learn next week.) Here are several stories children (and adults) should always remember about Abraham Lincoln for the lessons they carry. Read them in this week’s Carosa Commentary “Leadership Lessons of Abraham Lincoln.”
