Deric and Amy West, the owners of Honeoye Falls Market Place and Mendon Meadows Market Place were among the honorees recognized with a 2023 Community Champion for Public Education Award last Friday (May 5).

ACT for Education and the 22 public school districts in the Monroe One and Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES region celebrated the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year with a celebration of community partnership.  Each district recognized special honorees including community leaders, business partners, and nonprofit partners with a 2023 Community Champion for Public Education Award. The honor recognizes local businesses and leaders who serve as exceptional supporters of public schools and students.

Also honored were the Town of Wheatland Recreation Department and Pittsford Federal Credit Union.
