The Livingston County Office of the Aging and the Livingston County Board of Supervisors held the 38th Seniorama on May 5. This much anticipated annual celebration recognizes individuals for a lifetime of community service and good citizenship.
Bruce Mayer was selected as Lima’s honoree for 2018. Mayer has served as a town councilman for more than 25 years, and has been an active member and volunteer with numerous community organizations including Boy Scouts, Lima Historical Society, Friends of the Lima Public Library, Friends in Service Here and the Lima Golden Agers Club. He and his wife Dinah are active in their church and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2017.
As Bruce approached the stage to receive this exceptional award, remarks noting his multitude of contributions concluded with a quotation from the nominating committee, “The citizens of Lima who know Bruce feel very blessed to have the privilege of knowing such a selfless, generous and giving man and helping neighbor.”
