Here are the 3 Hotspot devices that can be loaned out. Photo by Mendon Public Library

The Friends of the Mendon Public Library recently purchased three Hotspot devices to circulate through the library system. The Hotspot Lending Program was implemented by the Friends

  • because they wish to:
  • bridge the digital divide;
  • help individuals with employment opportunities;
  • provide access to health information, especially seniors and those in rural areas;
  • offer connectivity to financially disadvantage patrons; and
  • join with other libraries in providing these services to our patrons.

A Wi-Fi Hotspot is a device you can use to connect a mobile-enabled device, such as a laptop, smartphone, or tablet to the Internet.  The Hotspot is portable, so you can connect your device almost anywhere. Mendon Public Library’s Hotspots are T-Mobile devices that patrons can use as wifi when connected to their phone or other devices. The Hotspots will be available for a one-week loan period. They will be available first-come-first-served as no holds will be taken on the Hotspots. Mendon Public Library Hotspots must be picked up and returned to the Mendon Public Library.
The Friends of the Mendon Public Library is a 501c3 organization dedicated to enhancing the library. The Friends’ mission is to promote literacy, encourage a love of books, and foster the use of library services. The Friends are currently in the midst of their Annual Appeal. If you wish to support the Friends with a donation to the “Imagine Your Story” Annual Appeal, please donate at mendonlibrary.org.
