The Town of Mendon Planning Board approved the plans of Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation for its gas barns site located at 273 Canfield Road in Mendon.
RG&E intends to replace the public utility scale “heaters”, upgrade the fence around the property and improve drainage. While it had initially proposed to remove the large barn now housing the public utility scale “heaters”, RG&E has revised its proposal and will retain the barn, although it will upgrade its exterior, due to public feedback on the barn’s importance for screening and community character.
The fencing will be raised to a height of nine feet, including barbed wire, and there will be additional landscaping.
