The Honeoye Falls-Lima High School band and chorus students not only had fun in Virginia Beach on their annual trip to the Festivals of Music competition, but they also brought home first or second place in every category, received two overall awards, one outstanding accompanist honor, one outstanding soloist award and one outstanding section award.

HF-L attended the Festivals of Music competition from April 19-22.

On the instrumental side, the HF-L Jazz Ensemble received first place with a “Superior” rating and also captured the Overall Jazz Award as well as an Outstanding Section honor for the Jazz Saxophone section. The Wind Ensemble earned a second place in its category with a “Superior” rating. The Concert Band also received second place with an “Excellent” rating. Aiden McLean (trombone) was awarded an Outstanding Soloist honor.

The HF-L choral students also received high praise with the Select Choir collecting first place with a “Superior” rating. The Mixed Chorus was awarded first place with a “Superior” rating. The Treble Choir garnered first place with an “Excellent” rating. Maeve Connors (clarinet) received an Outstanding Accompanist Award. HF-L captured the Overall Choral Award.
