The Honeoye Falls-Lima High School National Honor Society inducted its latest group of members in a ceremony on February 6 at the District Auditorium. The ceremony, originally scheduled for January 22, was rescheduled due to the closing of school because of the extreme cold.
Following an introduction by Co-Advisor Dianne Witkowski, HF-L’s NHS President Braden Bellizzi welcomed parents and students to the ceremony. Mark Luxemberg, an English teacher at the high school, was asked to be the keynote speaker this year. He talked about how others had been a mentor to him and eventually helped guide his decision to becoming a teacher at the age of 39 and about the importance of helping others as he had been helped by an organ donor.
Four NHS officers discussed the four pillars of NHS: Leadership (presented by Treasurer Harrison Houle), Scholarship (presented by Vice President/Service Miaya Gould), Service (presented by Vice President/Academics Emily Colgan) and Character (presented by Secretary Holden Kamm).
Following that, each inductee was called up to the front of the stage where they received congratulations and wrote their names into the HF-L NHS book. The inductees were Nora Anderson, Shaye Angelo, Adeline Beutner, Sam Burdett, Natalya Camobreco, Claire Connors, Maeve Connors, Elias Courtney, Elias Cleveland, Alexandra DaGama, Renato Danella, Eliana Davis, Anna DeClerck, Charles Dovichi, Sophie Eberle, Ryan Elliott, Madelyn Etter, Sawyer Ferraro, Kai Ferraro, Olivia Gates, Ezra Gathercole, Natalie Gilbert, Olivia Hammond, Alexander Heywood, Hazel Jokl, Sam Jokl, Abigail Lange, Jenna Lawrence, Chloe Litteer, Sarah McLaughlin, Nathan Meacham, Madeline Mehring, Alexander Meisenzahl, Finley Neenan, Lucinda Neff, Kevin Nguyen, Julian Palmer, Ashley Parrish, Megan Parrish, Payten Pritchard, Jenna Quinn, Matthew Remus, Owen Reynolds, Alysa Richards, Evelyn Rose, Michael Ruff, Hera Shaheed, Ethan Shum, Caroline Smith, Sarah Smith, Marco Vengochea, Jacob Weber, Gavin West, Lukas Wilson, Ava Youngblut and Caleb Youngblut.
