Catch a joyous, witty ode to childhood and imagination as the students from Honeoye Falls-Lima Middle School present Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical, Jr. this weekend.

Matilda The Musical, Jr. tells the story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires. Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence…and special powers! She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress Miss Trunchbull hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts and could be the schoolchildrens’ saving grace. The show is packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs.

“We’re thrilled that we’re able to put on our first live musical since 2018,” director Joanne Gravelle said. “Our cast and crew have been working really hard and are excited to put it in front of an audience.”
