The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District would like to take this opportunity to thank the HF-L community for its continued support during the District’s Phase II.V Capital Project vote that took place on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
Residents approved the project 160-50.
The District would also like to thank the incredible group of community volunteers and staff who worked for several months in putting this referendum in front of the community and for the School Board who made this final recommendation to you.
The work of continuous investment in HF-L’s school infrastructure is a sound business model and maximizing the support of state aid to fund the District’s facilities can be challenging and a lengthy process. Thanks to your support, the District will be able to repair aging and costly heating and cooling systems at the high school, provide upgrades to classroom door locks and classroom and school renovations at Lima Primary, cool new areas of many buildings, and provide modern science classrooms at the Middle School, as well as provide lighting for the new turf field.
This capital investment helps provide financial stability for the District. The District has been deliberate in its financial approach and has worked diligently to avoid spending more than it receives in revenue. This can be a challenge due to New York’s current model of school funding and caps. Your ongoing financial support of the District is greatly appreciated; the District pledges to continue to lobby legislators to provide fair funding that reduces the school districts’ reliance on local property taxes.
Given HF-L’s outstanding reputation, as well as residents’ continued support of students and school, it’s clear that Honeoye Falls-Lima is a place where people want to be, a district of choice. On behalf of all of the staff, students, administration, and the Board of Education, thank you once again for your support.
