On March 10, the HFL youth wrestling team (K-6) won the Greater Rochester Youth Wrestling Championships for the second straight year completing an undefeated season (9-0). Hosted at Pittsford Sutherland, HFL (South divisional champs) beat Penfield (East divisional champs) in the semis and went on to beat Webster Schroeder (North divisional champs) 49-17 in the finals.
Another cool fact is that two HFL varsity wrestlers have younger brothers on the youth team. Four-time state champ Anthony Noto’s younger brother Chris Noto and Section V 99-pound runner-up Jazz Spaulding’s younger brother Andrew Spaulding were both undefeated in duals this year and played a big role in the youth team capturing back to back championships.
