Hornets and Cougars mingled with each other as Honeoye Falls and Honeoye Falls-Lima alumni shared laughs and stories at the annual Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima High School Annual Alumni Reunion on October 6.

The reunion took place on the Sunday of Fall Weekend to allow for more activities for those attending. Over 120 alumni attended the gathering which took place at Flaherty’s Restaurant in Honeoye Falls; over 70 of them were Honeoye Falls grads (through 1969) and the rest were HF-L grads (Honeoye Falls and Lima merged to form HF-L with the first combined graduating class in 1970).

The honored classes this year were the Classes of 1954 (70 years), 1959 (65 years), 1964 (60 years), 1969 (55 years), 1974 (50 years), 1979 (45 years) and 1984 (40 years). The earliest class represented was 1952 with four members: Mabel Arner-Thayer, Sally Donlon-Zimmer, Joe O’Grady and Elmer “Dutch” VanVoorhis. The 1974 class had the most attending with 24 alumni while the classes of 1962 and 1964 had 13 attendees each. On display at the reunion were the senior class pictures of the honored classes, the Honeoye Falls school flag and the HF-L school flag.

The reunion began at noon and lasted until 3 p.m. with a welcome, remarks and announcements from the Reunion Committee at 1:45 p.m. Alumni enjoyed table seating in the dining room of Flaherty’s with light appetizers, a full buffet luncheon and the brief program. On the tables were booklets with the names of those attending as well as the names of 40 alumni who had passed away from September 2023 to September 2024. The reunion committee of Barb Banser-Lonobile (1968), Jean McGeary-Batte (1962), Claire Keating-Broomfield (1965), Muffy Meisenzahl (1970), Frank Morehouse (1969), Kathy Overslaugh-Morehouse (1970), Sally Perrigo Emens (1964) and Sandy Wagner (1973) ask that if you know of an alum who has passed away that you contact them to let them know.

Next year’s reunion will again coincide with HF-L’s Fall Weekend activities (the date of which is unknown at this time). They encourage alumni to refer to the HF-L website (hflcsd.org) and click on the Alumni Tab for the most up-to-date information about reunions and alumni activities.
