Mayor Rick Milne

Mayor Richard Milne of the Village of Honeoye Falls has completed training through the New York State Conference of Mayors’ Elected Officials Academy (EOA) and is now a member of its first graduating class of sixteen city and village officials.

The EOA was established by NYCOM in 2019 and is a voluntary continuing education program established to facilitate and recognize the efforts of local elected officials to become more effective leaders.

“NYCOM applauds Mayor Milne for his dedication to being a well-informed public servant,” stated NYCOM Executive Director Peter A. Baynes. “Being a municipal official carries with it important responsibilities impacting the lives of all New Yorkers, and Mayor Milne is clearly committed to fulfilling those responsibilities in a professional and educated manner.”

To receive the Education Award from the Elected Officials Academy, Mayor Milne was required to earn a minimum of 25 credits as follows: 8 credits in Core Courses, 10 credits in Elective Courses, 4 credits in Conference Attendance and 3 credits in Advocacy.

The New York State Conference of Mayors (NYCOM) is the statewide association representing New York’s cities and villages. Since 1910, NYCOM has united local government officials in an active network of legislative advocacy, legal guidance, technical assistance and municipal training.
