Village of Honeoye Falls and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation officials say there is a sewage discharge into Honeoye Creek.

The discharge happened on Rodney Drive in the village at around 9:15 p.m. Sunday, November 5. According to the DEC website, the discharge was described as diluted raw sewage, which was estimated to be spilling into the creek at a rate of 100 gallons per minute.

Crews are working to pump the discharge to a storm sewer. The reason behind the sewage leak has yet to be discovered.
