The newest pharmacy in the area opened for business last week and the owner comes from a long line of pharmacists.
Honeoye Falls Pharmacy officially opened on November 30, but its Grand Opening will be held December 10 from 8:30 a.m.-noon. Erica Spencer owns the pharmacy, which is located within the Honeoye Falls Market Place grocery store on West Main Street in Honeoye Falls.
Spencer, who formerly worked at the Rite Aid Pharmacy just up the street from her location, received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Buffalo in 2009.
“I have always wanted to have my own pharmacy so I decided to take the leap,” she said. My grandfather owned a pharmacy in Elmira in the 1950s and both of my parents are pharmacists in Elmira.”
Spencer has one other employee working with her right now, Bryana, who is a pharmacy technician.
Hours of operation for the pharmacy are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m.-noon. The pharmacy is closed on Sundays.
