Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty advises the arrest of a 42-year-old woman from Honeoye Falls following an investigation into a fire.
On January 24th at approximately 3:39 PM the Livingston County Emergency Communications Center (E911) received a phone call reporting a fire at an apartment complex on Livingston Street in Lima.
Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene along side the Lima and East Avon Fire Departments. An investigation was conducted in partnership with Livingston County Fire Coordinators to determine the cause of the fire. It was determined by Fire Investigator McGory that the pattern was “topical” and started on the porch.
The investigation further alleges that Susanne M. Henzel of Honeoye Falls was smoking on the porch at her friends apartment on Livingston Street in Lima and which caused the fire due to ashes disposed of outside on the porch. Henzel also admitted she was smoking a cigarette and crumpled it up in her hand on the outside porch.
Kathleen Coyle, age 68 of Lima, the renter of the apartment, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana following marijuana smoking pipes being located in the apartment and will answer to Lima Town Court at a later date.
Henzel was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree and Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree. Henzel was processed for the charges and released on appearance ticket returnable to Lima Town Court. Sheriff’s Deputy Matthew Moran handled the investigation and arrests.
