The Paul Czapranski/Tim Hogan Kids Fishing Derby, an event sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion Smith-Warren Post 367 in Scottsville, will be held on Saturday, August 10 from 7 a.m.-11 a.m.
There are two age categories for the Fishing Derby: ages 10-15 and ages 9 and younger. The derby will be held rain or shine. Parents should register their children the day of the event at Canawaugus Park in Scottsville and they are responsible for their own children. It is free; the entry will get the child a t-shirt, bait, grab bag and refreshments while supplies last.
Prizes will be awarded in each age group for: longest game fish, longest non-game fish and total length of fish. The prizes will be awarded at 12 noon at Canawaugus Park with one prize per person.
